Our Story
Michele and I have been live aboard owners of three Leopard Catamarans over the last 16 years. This is our fourth catamaran and it is our third Leopard. We have owned two Leopard 46's owner's version and now the current Semper Fi (4) a Leopard 45 owner's version.
By the time we purchased this boat we had some pretty definite ideas of what we wanted, what worked, and who/how to get our boat the way we wanted.
Michele Wallick
Michele has an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Villanova University and a Master's degree from George Mason's University. She loves to paint, write and work with silk as her creative outlets.
On the boat she takes care of the bilges, the foredeck work of anchoring and mooring, She takes care of the helm enclosure and all canvas work. First boat you defer to the canvas shop people - By the fourth boat she had a lot of requirements for the helm enclosure based on our experience. Most the craftsman that work on boats have great skills, but surprisingly most don't have experience as cruisers.
Greg Wallick
I am a retired Marine Corps Infantry Officer and I had a follow on career in Technology. I have always loved the water. Among other things I was a Combat Diver in the Marine Corps and I am a PADI Scuba Instructor.
My real sailing experience didn't start until my 40th birthday trip on a Windjammer sailing trip. Michele and I saw people on Catamarans and they were living on them. We looked at each other and said we can do that. After Sailing lessons, charters and a few years we bought our first boat a Maine Cat 30. We explored the Bahamas and had a fantastic time. The Maine Cat 30 was, however, camping and we wanted to have a sailing home. In 2008 we bought our first Leopard 46 and picked in up at the factory in Cape Town, South Africa to bring her back to the Caribbean. 16 years and two more Leopards and here we are now - two "old salts" lol
